Data Operations Manager

A progressive manufacturing company in Southeastern Los Angeles is in need of a Data Operation and Development Manager to serve as the lead data steward and development driver of data systems and applications with a focus on accuracy, integrity, completeness, accessibility, validity and data security compliance. This role is responsible for deploying, designing, and implementing solutions using a diverse set of technologies in distribution and manufacturing environments.

The Data Operations and Development manager will keep apprised of current technologies related to Analytics, Data Quality as well as report deployment solutions and to provide leadership towards related goals while simultaneously having the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical employees.

This position also interfaces with other departments to provide guidance. Develop a data strategy roadmap, daily oversight of Master Data Management tools, data governance standards, and a data quality framework to ensure optimal utilization of data assets. Reports to the Director of IT, the position actively participates and works the Infrastructure and Application support teams as well as the various departments, customers and vendors.

  • Essential Functions: Business Architecture Strategic Support in collaboration with the Application Manager This position will drive the design and implementation of the Data Flow Architecture from which future application data back-end development will be patterned after.

  • Provides leadership and technical assistance to data capture and integration projects. Ensures provisioning of data quality and process visibility of every data flow instance within the company and externally.

  • The position will oversee responsibilities related to resolving production issues, implementing enhancements, customizations, and coordinating major upgrades.

  • Data Stewardship & Management Provide oversight and structure to ensure compliance with data standards and foster adherence to data privacy and availability requirements, benchmarked against industry best practices.

  • Facilitate a Data Governance function for cross-team data sharing, organizational performance management, data-collection best practices and dashboard creation. Maintains data quality checks across enterprise data repositories and analytics.

  • Collaboration Function: Communicate data management processes and protocols to all functional teams.

  • Works with business partners to fully understand how data can support institutional business process; serves as an expert resource to staff.

  • Leads efforts to improve to data quality in support of strategic data needs and analytics

  • Develops data roadmap that aligns data quality needs with business objectives Maintains a business rule repository and data dictionary.

  • Manages data purges and retention cycles. Establishes and maintains data quality processes, data quality metrics, gaps, and issue tracking; communicates metrics to management.

  • Management of Data Quality Analysts (internal or external resources) Oversees data to day operations in support of centralized data processes, including management of data quality specialists.

  • Seeks solutions with business partners related to the tracking and entry of data.

  • Creates and enforces processes for accountability related to records management and maintenance.

  • Maintains department operational manual, instructions and procedures.

  • Budget & Expense Management Monitor and administer budget and expense approvals related to assigned functions Monitors licensing requirements and support agreements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology area. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.

  • 3-5 years of managing business systems and administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of integrated database systems, data integrity, data lifecycle management Strong human relations skills required.

  • Excellent organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
