We are looking for a Staff or Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a smart, curious, problem solver, with a strong knowledge of GAAP, and really wants to join a team where they can make a difference as they help with setting up new process and procedures and help with implementing new enterprise systems. This person will take full responsibility for Accounts Payable, and will also assist with daily general ledger accounting, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and the month-end close process, along with other ad hoc financial reporting and special projects, as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Oversees all Accounts Payable
2. Prepares general journal entries, as required
3. Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly
4. Reconciles bank accounts
5. Assists with month-end close process
6. Assists with preparation of monthly financial reports
7. Assists with maintenance of internal controls and safeguarding assets
8. Assists with financial statement audit
9. Assists with preparation of property tax returns
10. Perform ad hoc financial analysis, as needed
11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.):
1. BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
2. MA in Accounting or Tax, a plus.
3. CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
4. Public Accounting experience preferred
5. 2+ years of experience required.
6. 1+ year of supervisory experience a plus
7. Supply chain and more specifically LTL transportation industry knowledge a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
