Nationally recognized in the banking industry and the nonprofit world, although, their tax practice is highly diversified to include clients from many other industries. Core services include auditing, accounting, tax preparation, enterprise risk management, forensic accounting, and consulting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of clients’ tax returns. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with strong supervisory skills are required.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns.

  • Assumes responsibility for preparing complex tax returns and delegates to the various tax preparers as necessary.

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical and research skills necessary for advising clients.

  • Performs all task related to client service within budgeted time.

  • Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the A&A department with larger clients.

  • Acts as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff on specific tax issues and/or questions.

  • Assumes client service responsibility for clients the tax manager works directly with or clients where the responsibility is delegated from the partner.

  • Communicates to the appropriate firm personnel important tax and tax developments affecting the firms’ clients.

  • Manages tax authority examinations; may represent the client before the appropriate taxing authorities.

  • Maintains familiarity with qualifications of all tax staff members; reviews staff assignments for appropriateness.

  • Provides on‐the‐job training to staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Understanding and experience with FORM 990 preferred.

  • At least five to seven years experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience supervising, reviewing and directing work of tax preparers is required.

  • Current and valid CPA license is required.
