POSITION SUMMARY

The Water District Regulatory Accountant/Analyst will perform assigned regulatory functions requiring the application of generally accepted accounting principles and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) rules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position will be willing and able to perform the following duties and others as assigned:

· Gathers, analyzes, and compiles complex technical data for reports to management and governmental agencies.

· Assists in planning and conducting research and studies as may be required to establish, substantiate, or clarify Company position on requirements of the CPUC and other regulatory agencies.

· Examines basic accounting documents, classification of data, the procedures for reconciliation, internal controls, etc., to determine the adequacy of current procedures, compliance with regulatory requirements and the need for improvement or the establishment of new or revised procedures.

· Assists in the preparation of written testimony for general rate cases, written responses to data requests from the CPUC and other regulatory agencies, and other various filings as may be required.

· Takes initiative to analyze problems and to alert management to major issues. Continuously look for opportunities to improve reporting procedures and processes. May manage various responsibilities, which requires flexibility.

· Develops and maintains relationships with other Company departments and outside regulatory agencies to initiate, further or complete assignments.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor of Art or Science with a focus on Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Public Policy. MBA in Business or Accounting preferred.

Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
